Our team travelled to Tasmania for two weeks, to conduct the replacement of PVC Components in a 2x MSS-241 Cooling Towers at Nyrstar’s Hobart Smelter.

Due to the volume of Fill Block in the tower, extra support beams are required to hold the weight. The existing beams were beginning to bow so our team replaced the Stainless Steel beams, sourcing the material from a local steel supplier in Lutana.

The job was completed right on schedule and we received excellent feedback from the client.

We continue our support for Nyrstar with spare parts and options to continually improve or maintain the efficiency of the tower.
